Minutes of a meeting of Mattishall Parish Council
Held at the Methodist Church Rooms, Dereham Road
Wednesday 31 March 2010

The meeting was convened at 7.06 pm.

Present: Councillors Cynthia Wake (Chairman), Steve Blake (Vice-Chairman), Liz Brown, Robert Eady, Rosalind Lee, Richard Norton, Janice Smith and Bryan Turner. There were no members of the public in attendance.

1. Apologies for absence

1.1 There were no apologies for absence. One minute’s silence was held in memory of Parish Councillor James Oakley, who died at the weekend. The Parish Council agreed to send a letter of condolence to Mrs Oakley.

2. Members’ declarations of interest in items on the agenda

2.1 An interest was declared by Mr Norton as a Trustee of the Barlow Charity.

3. To consider recent developments and decide the way forward for the Barlow Charity

3.1 Following discussion, the Parish Council proposed to take responsibility for the future of the Old School Building. This was proposed by Ms Brown, seconded by Mr Blake. Decision carried 5 for, 2 against and 1 abstention.

3.2 The Parish Council agreed the wording of a letter to be sent by the Clerk to the Secretary of the Barlow Charity (via email and hard copy).

The meeting closed at 8.50 pm.
